Bio-Matter

Three musicians who became friends via a local advertisement on Craig’s List: Bass player Drew Hall, who recently relocated from Syracuse, was the first to answer Jerry McGowan’s advertisement for musicians interested in forming a trio. Intrigued by Jerry’s website of all original material featuring complex guitar melodies, lush beautiful chords, and unusual rhythms, Drew immediately answered Jerry’s call to put together a band around the material.
After a few introductory jams between the two musicians, it became obvious that whoever filled the position of drummer was going to have to be someone with exceptional chops, skill, and timing. Enter Christopher Passante, a native of Rome, NY who had moved to South-Central Pennsylvania from South Carolina a year earlier.
Following the first few rehearsals the Trio (as it was called initially) started writing a number of original compositions, pulling from styles such as Rock, Jazz, Reggae, and World Music. Three months later a dozen more songs were written, based on a fusion of various musical styles, multiple solos, experimentation, and improvisation. They currently have their sights set on a number of festivals and outdoor venues for the 2010 season and are planning to record in mid-April 2010.
